About the Founder
James E. Whitfield
In 2013, James Whitfield founded ContractGPS as a government contract consulting firm for educational product and services companies. Today, that same firm has grown into a small team of experts who share the same vision and values that ContractGPS was originally built on — clarity, opportunity and efficiency.
As a former government employee and consultant, James played an active role in creating the contract process he now successfully leads other businesses through. Some may say he helps other people defeat the same monster he helped create.
Over the last decade, James has assisted several large multi-billion dollar corporations, including McGraw-Hill, Pearson, and Kaplan K-12 understand the RFP, PQS and now MTAC process.
To his core, James believes in helping others see their true potential as educational providers while leveraging the same power and opportunity that was given to him as a former student years ago:
James was raised in Queens, New York, and attended Hofstra University where graduated with his undergraduate, then Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s degree in Speech and Rhetoric in 2005.
